Celebrity Designer Brockstar Is Designing a World Where Fashion, Function, and Fearlessness Collide

In a city fueled by reinvention and creative risk, Brockstar is building a name that refuses to be boxed in. Equal parts designer, DIY innovator, and nightlife curator, Brockstar represents a new wave of creatives who aren’t just participating in culture — they’re actively shaping it.

Based in Los Angeles, Brockstar is an artist-wearables designer with a background in fiber art, specializing in custom apparel and bedazzled props that quite literally shine. But beyond the rhinestones and statement pieces lies a deeper philosophy rooted in curiosity, experimentation, and constant evolution.

“I’ve been creating all my life,” Brockstar shares. “From cooking to art to sewing — it’s always been about exploring. My biggest passion is just being curious.”

That curiosity has become the driving force behind a career that blends fashion, engineering, and storytelling. Each piece is approached with intention — not just in how it looks, but how it functions.

“I think like an engineer when I design,” they explain. “How does it travel? How does it transform? How can it be reused? I want everything to feel highly fabulous, but also smart.”

Inspired by Pop Culture, Powered by Purpose

Like many creatives raised in the early 2000s, Brockstar’s foundation was built on a steady diet of pop culture. Shows like That’s So Raven, True Jackson, VP, and Project Runway helped shape their vision of what fashion could be — expressive, bold, and limitless. Films like Spy Kids sparked a fascination with gadgets and innovation that still shows up in their work today.

Growing up in a small town only amplified that vision.

“I always felt like I was meant to do bigger things,” Brockstar says. “So I just keep pushing toward that with every project.”

When the Work Stops, the Truth Begins

For Brockstar, the biggest breakthrough didn’t come from a single project or moment of recognition — it came from adversity.

“The biggest shift for me was losing it all,” they admit. “As a freelancer, you can get caught up in the next gig or chasing validation. But when the phone stops ringing, that’s when you really find out who you are.”

Instead of folding under pressure, Brockstar used that moment as a reset — refocusing on purpose over performance, and sustainability over survival.

Building Community Through Creativity

Today, Brockstar’s work extends far beyond design. As the host and MC of HOTPOTKTOWN, a QT BIPOC collective based in Koreatown, they are actively creating spaces that center queer joy, inclusivity, and community.

With upcoming events like Prom on April 18 and a slate of Pride activations this summer, Brockstar continues to merge nightlife with cultural impact.

They’re also launching an all-inclusive intimate garments workshop this May — designed to empower participants to explore creativity, confidence, and self-expression.

“It’s about creating spaces where people can feel free, seen, and inspired,” they say.

What’s Next: A New Chapter in Design

Looking ahead, Brockstar is stepping into a major creative evolution.

“I’m working on my first fashion collection in over 10 years,” they reveal. “It’s a culmination of everything I’ve learned and where I see my work going in the future.”

In addition to returning to fashion in a major way, Brockstar is also developing a digital platform designed to support fellow creatives — an app or website aimed at providing tools, resources, and community for artists navigating their own journeys.

It’s a move that reflects not just growth, but intention — building something that extends beyond personal success.

Lessons Learned and Moving Smarter

Behind the scenes, Brockstar has navigated the realities many creatives face but rarely discuss — being underpaid, undervalued, or creatively exploited.

“I’ve experienced a lot that people don’t see,” they share. “But I’m not bitter. I just learned how to move differently.”

One lesson stands above the rest:

“Don’t start a project until the money is sent.”

It’s a boundary that reflects both growth and self-respect — something Brockstar encourages all emerging creatives to adopt early.

Creating Without Limits

At the core of Brockstar’s work is a desire to give back to the creative community that helped shape them.

“I want to be someone who gives as much as they take,” they say. “I’ve had people guide me, support me, and hold space for me — I want to do the same.”

And when it comes to advice?

“You don’t need fancy tools to start. Just begin. Build your skills, stay curious, and grow from there.”

The Brockstar Era

Describing themselves as “sassy, bold, and tacky,” Brockstar is fully embracing a new chapter — one defined by fearlessness, fun, and a little bit of chaos.

“I want to live life like I’m in my early 20s again,” they say. “Fearless, fun, and slightly reckless.”

But beyond the glitz and nightlife, there’s another side that might surprise people:

“I often think about selling everything and living off-grid — raising livestock and growing my own food.”

It’s a reminder that even the most vibrant creatives are constantly evolving, dreaming, and redefining what fulfillment looks like.

Because at the end of the day, the mission is simple:

Create. Evolve. Shine.

And, as Brockstar puts it best:
“Limitations inspire innovations.”
